Join the chain of global connection
I have been an artist based in the UK for a number of years and it was on
revisiting a piece of my own artwork that I created in 2006 Paper Chain Family
that I began to put together the idea for this project.
My interest has always been, both as as an individual and an artist, in the
idea of the community and one where instead of concentrating on our
differences we celebrate our strengths.
Gobally, although we may lead very different lives, with the aid of modern
telecommunications and the internet means that even at a geographical
distance, we can meet, keep in touch and get involved with a projects
such as this one.
So the colourful worldlinkpaintings represent the diversity of peoples and
yet also reminds us of the strength derived from being a part of a family or
a group and the benefits of us all working together.
For the good of all.
1. one of the rings or separate pieces of which a chain is composed.
2. anything serving to connect one part or thing with another; a bond or tie
Chemistry: A group of atoms bonded in a spatial configuration like links in a chain.
I particularly like this one:
verb
to make a connection between two or more people, things or ideas:
Noun
1. a relationship or connection between people or things.
2. something that facilitates communication between people.
3. a means of contact or transport between two places.
4. a loop in a chain
a connected series, set, or sequence.
